EAD renewal while the I-485 is still pending - when did you file yours?

My work permit expires at the end of January and my I-485, filed this spring on my employer's EB-3 case, is still pending. I keep seeing advice to renew 90 days early, but lately I hear renewal cards take longer than that to arrive. Anyone who renewed recently: when did you file, and when did the new card actually show up? I need to decide whether to warn my manager about a possible gap.

Employers that sponsor work visas for nurses?

I'm a registered nurse back home and want to know which U.S. hospitals or staffing agencies are currently sponsoring work visas for internationally trained nurses. Would love to hear real experiences.

Looking for free or low-cost ESL classes for absolute beginners, preferably with evening or weekend sessions since I work during the day. Online options welcome too.

How long did your asylum interview wait take?

I filed my I-589 about 8 months ago and haven't heard about an interview date yet. Curious what wait times have looked like for others recently, and which service center you filed with.

Affordable apartments for newly arrived families in Chicago

My family just arrived and we're looking for a 2-bedroom apartment under $1,400/month, ideally near public transit. Any neighborhoods or agencies you'd recommend that work with newcomers?
